Sedentary behavior (SB) represents a relevant public health issue, widely documented in epidemiological and clinical studies. Its analysis involves methodological challenges due to the diversity of low-energy-expenditure activities and limitations in their measurement. Traditionally, the assessment of SB has focused on the amount of time individuals spend sitting, using instruments such as the IPAQ and GPAQ; however, these do not capture the complexity of different sedentary behaviors. The objective of this study was to adapt the Adolescent Sedentary Activity Questionnaire (ASAQ) into Spanish and to evaluate its construct validity. A quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional approach was employed, whit a stratified sample of 539 secondary school students, whit a mean age of 13.38 years. The linguistic adaptation was conducted using the back-translation method. To analyze the psychometric properties, Exploratory Factor Analysis, Principal Component Analysis, and Confirmatory Factor Analysis were applied. The results confirmed the construct validity of the instrument for school days. Model fit was improved by removing certain items from the Educational Activity and Cultural Activity dimensions, which reduced the RMSEA to 0.05, indicating an adequate fit. Additionally, high reliability of the instrument was observed (ω = 0.892 and α = 0.975).
